I'd like to tell you about one of my favorite client stories. And honestly, one of my favorite friendships!
It started back in 2017, when I helped a wonderful family buy their first condo in Issaquah. They were so excited, Issaquah felt like home to them from the very beginning. And from the moment I met them, I just knew they were my kind of people. Something clicked between us right away. By the time we closed, they weren’t just clients anymore. They were friends. I started getting invited over to their home for dinners, gatherings, birthday, holidays, the kind of thing that has nothing to do with real estate and everything to do with genuine connection. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you actually care about the people you’re working with.
A few years passed, life moved forward the way it does, and in 2020 they called me again. This time not for another get together, they were ready to upsize. Same neighborhood they loved, but it was time for a proper single family home with more room to grow into.
And then, well... you remember 2020 😉
Right as we were preparing to put their condo on the market, COVID hit and the world just… stopped. Showings stopped. Open houses disappeared. Nobody knew what was coming next, and real estate felt like it was holding its breath. I won’t lie, it was an uncertain time for everyone. But we kept going. And their condo sold in 12 days through a virtual showing which was the only type of showing that was allowed at the time.
From there, we found them a gorgeous single-family home right in the Issaquah neighborhood they loved and at a price that, only months later, would have been almost unthinkable. The market shifted fast, and homes were flying off at hundreds of thousands over the asking price. We got in at exactly the right moment.
I remember thinking this is why you don’t wait for perfect conditions. You work with what you have, and you move.
Now, fast forward six years. My phone rings, and it’s them! They’re ready to sell that same home and move on to their next adventure. I genuinely became a little emotional. Because when a friend calls you after six years and says “we want you to handle this” that means everything to me. That’s not a transaction. That’s trust at its deepest level.
And they made it very clear, they didn’t want to lift a finger! They handed us the key and said, “we trust you, take it from here.” So we did exactly that! My team and I took complete care of everything. We coordinated contractors for upgrades inside and outside the home. We arranged professional landscaping, had the whole place deep cleaned, and brought in stunning staging that every single visitor commented on when they walked through the door. They didn’t have to think about a single detail. That was our job, and we took it seriously. Then came the open houses. Three days back to back, that brought nearly 100 people through the door. That Saturday we brought in a food truck and invited the entire neighborhood. Not just buyers, the whole street! Because when a home feels like the heart of a community, people feel that energy the moment they walk in. And they did! Four days later, we had an offer. Clean, fast, and a smooth closing that felt like the perfect ending to a chapter they’d lived so beautifully.
Here’s what I always come back to with this story, none of that happened by accident. It happened because this family trusted us completely, quite literally handed us the keys, and gave us the space to do what we do best. And we came in with a real strategy, real preparation, and genuine care. Not just a sign in the yard and a hope for the best. When trust is that complete, we make sure the results match it. Every single time.
I’m so proud of what we achieved for them. And honestly, I’m just grateful they called! Watching people you genuinely love move confidently into their next chapter, knowing you played a part in making it seamless? There’s nothing quite like it.
